Hi, I’m Diane from sixthreezero in San Clemente. Many people have asked me: if I were to recommend an e-trike for my husband, which one would I choose? After riding every model we have, I’ve narrowed it down to two main contenders: the Relaxed Body E-Trike and the Recumbent Rickshaw.
Both of these options feature fat tires and come fully equipped with sixthreezero’s standard features, including pedal assist, seven gear levels, and a thumb throttle. However, if I had to choose one for him, I would go with the Recumbent Rickshaw. Here is why.
My husband and I are currently transitioning in our cycling lives. We used to be triathletes and marathon runners, moving from the world of high-performance mountain and road bikes to the world of e-bikes. For someone with his background, the Recumbent Rickshaw offers the easiest transition for several reasons:
The Rickshaw is a bit longer than a standard trike, but that length provides incredible versatility. We can use the back seat for a leisurely ride where I am the passenger while he does the "hard" work of pedaling. Alternatively, if you don't need the passenger seat, you can swap it for a large basket to carry gear or groceries.
While the Recumbent Rickshaw is my top pick for my husband’s needs, every rider is different. I encourage you to come out to sixthreezero, test ride both models, and see which one fits your partner’s lifestyle best. I’d love to hear which one you choose!
Thank you for joining me, and have a great day.
