Senior’s POV GoPro Ride: Recumbent Fat Tire E-Trike Experience Post-Hip Surgery! Does She Like It?!

Hello, I'm Deb. I'm 66 years old. I recently had hip replacement surgery, and I wanted to get out and ride a bike. So I'm trying the Simple Glide E-trike here by Sixthreezero. I'm interested in a three-wheeler because I've yet to regain all of my balance since I had the hip surgery because of the weakness on the left side. So this is going to be a fun way to exercise, get my strength back in my left hip, and get out and about.

So let's try it. Okay, here we go. Let's gently move off here. And I'm gonna give myself a little throttle to get going. It's pretty powerful, actually. Gotta take it a little easy coming off the sidewalk here. The car. Okay, off we go.

Riding Comfort & Low-Impact Exercise

So far, this feels really comfortable on my hip. It's important to have this in alignment with your shoulder and your knee so you're not causing any pressure on the hip. So you've got to remember the muscles are weak and they've been cut into, and you've got to slowly build that strength back up. So this is really comfortable. It's nice; it feels good.

Doing 16 miles an hour. It's pretty fast on a bike. And this is a low-impact workout because you're not causing any stress on your muscles, but you're still getting a workout by pedaling, and you're gonna have power assist, which helps take the strain off the hip. important thing is you're getting blood flow. Here comes a car speeding around the corner. You're going to get the blood flow, which helps with healing. So we're going to go left.

Pedaling, Circulation, & Ease of Use

So I have it in third gear right now, and I just lost my footing. I just lost my footing. Again. Oh, dear. Okay. Well, we'll keep... That's okay, that's wrong. Oh, okay, pedal, pedal, pedal, pedal. That's better. Yeah, that's better.

It's important to have the blood flow help circulation, help heal the muscle, you know, get blood to the muscles, help heal the whole area. Don't feel any pressure on my hip. This is fantastic. The other important thing is I don't feel any pressure on my knees as well because you don't want anything straining. Very comfortable. If you get tired and you just want to cruise, there's a place here you can just put down and rest your feet. Just go into cruise control.

Mobility, Stability, & Final Thoughts

This is fun. I feel free again because before the hip surgery I was not able to walk much. Sitting in a car was too painful, and so I was pretty much housebound for a while so I could get the surgery. And now this gives me a lot of freedom. Do you feel a little tired? Just stop pedaling. Oh. Oh, feels good to feel the wind in my face. Carried away here. Going a little too fast. I don't feel any strain on my hip. This is great. exercise. It's pretty stable, actually. I don't think I'd feel stable on a two-wheeler right now, but this is all pretty stable. What a pleasure.

Okay. So there you have it. You can put the armrests down. And as I say, here's the plate that you can put down if you want to do cruising. So I feel I really like this bike. I'm just excited to be out and exercising. And I feel great. I don't feel any pain whatsoever in my hip. So I'm thrilled. This is the way to go.
