Hi, I'm Diane at Sixthreezero in San Clemente, and we're going to start a new challenge. And this is going to be- we've been talking before about a one-mile challenge, but now I think we're ready to start a two-mile-a-day challenge. So right now I'm at mile 19. I'm going to take you out on this challenge with me. I'm feeling good. I think we've been doing this for, gosh, about two, maybe three weeks now. I feel like my leg muscles are strengthening and getting stronger, and I think I have two miles in me. So let's go, let's start. So as you can see right here on the display, it's showing me how much battery and energy level I have, and what pedal assist I'm in. I'm gonna click it down one, and I'm at 19. So my goal is to make it to 21. I think I can do it. All right, off we go. Starting with the throttle, just to get going easily. I'm in pedal assist two.
Doing this as well. It's more fun. I've seen some comments on some of the videos about the fact that you're doing these challenges with me and that you've been accomplishing one mile a week. So I think we're ready to do two. Please keep commenting. It doesn't matter which video, any video. And again, if you could come up with your own challenge as well, I'm happy to join your challenge too. If we can do one mile, we can do two. And with having the assist that we have with pedal assist and with the throttle and with being able to switch gears when we need to, there's no reason we can't make it to two miles. We're ready. Pretty out here.
So right now I'm still in pedal assist two, but I'm kind of just braking right now because we're on a pretty substantial hill. So I could click over to pedal assist one if I wanted to, but to be honest, I'm not pedaling at all. Making my way down from a very steep climb that we did earlier, but I didn't Partially on my own, actually. Because I'm on an e-trike, I'm going to slow down before I make this turn. I'm still going downhill, so I'm in pedal assist one right now. There's a little lull before we hit the downhill. I'll tell you, I had those brakes on pretty hard during the ride down, and my hands are not fatigued at all. I've been doing a lot of yard work, so my hands are a little sore, if you will, but not a problem. Now we're going downhill on a little bit of a curve, so I'm riding the brakes even a little bit harder right now because that's my comfort level. I have to watch out for traffic as well. I'm easing off the brakes a little just because I'm hitting more flat ground.
You can probably hear it's super windy out here in San Clemente today. It's another way that e-trikes come in really helpful, especially when riding into the wind. Still at that 19-mile marker. The goal is to get to 21. We should be hitting the 20-mile marker pretty soon. We've gone kind of far, but that's the beauty, right? Like, I love having the display in front of me so I can see what's happening. I'm a well-informed biker. We're still on a downhill. Just a gorgeous ride today. Not a lot of traffic on the street, although there's an adequate bike lane here for me. Okay, we hit mile 20. We've got one mile to go for our two-mile challenge. As I said, if you guys think of another challenge, I'm happy to join you. I'm all about group training. And I love, love, love seeing that more and more of you are feeling comfortable getting a little bit more distance.
It's been toasty out here in Southern California all weekend. It's a little bit cooler. My throttle to get me around the turn. All right, enough for the downhill. Now I'm going to click up to pedal assist 4 because we went into an immediate steep uphill. I'm actually going to go into pedal assist 5 to get me going, get some momentum going behind this ride. I was spoiled back there. But with pedal assist five, I'm not breathing heavy. And I've been- I started the challenge; I did get some miles in earlier, but I wanted to do the full two miles with you, so we can do it together. Just gorgeous out today. No incline. Pedal assist five, going up the hill. I'm in fourth gear, which is working out really well for me because I'm in pedal assist five. I love the fact that we're increasing our goal mileage to two miles a day. I can do this. Can you?
Do you feel strong enough? If you've been doing this diligently and getting your miles in every day, your legs should feel stronger at this point. So doing the extra mile should feel okay to you. But if it doesn't, work up to that. We jumped from one mile to two miles, but you don't have to make a full mile jump. You can do whatever you feel is comfortable enough for you, so that you're going to want to get out on your bike again tomorrow and do it again. We should be almost at our two-mile mark, but I'm gonna keep going until we get there. So I'm gonna make a turn here in the cul-de-sac. Down to pedal assist one. Just because I'm on an e-trike, I like to take the turns a little bit slower because, again, what we talked about before, a difference between an e-bike and an e-trike is that I'm not using my body to make the turns and am letting the bike do it. Oh my goodness, we have to be so close.
But in the meantime, I get to enjoy all this beautiful scenery. Going back up a hill. This time I'm gonna exert a little bit of my own energy. Another hill. Where will we hit that mile? The second mile. And pedal assist for, because this is pretty steep. I don't know what the next turn brings us. We're in uncharted waters here. And we've got to be so close. Picking up a little speed. If I were on my regular bike, I would not be going this fast. I'll tell you that much. Or without pedal assist on this bike. I've got my bag in the back. I think it's making the basket vibrate a little. Say, going into a little bit of a downhill. We've got to be getting close. I'm going to click down my pedal assist to one because going downhill, so I don't need to be at four anymore. And guess what? This right here. 21, you know what that means?
We did it, everyone. We did it. We got our two miles in. Let me put my parking brake on. Oops, I just released it. That's okay. We did it. We said we were going to do two miles, and we did it together. It felt great for me. And as you could see, we were doing a lot of uphill and downhill. My legs feel great. It wouldn't have been possible without pedal assist, but that's the beauty of having an e-trike. Thank you so much for joining me in this challenge. You guys, get out there, get your two miles in, and then post and let me know that you did it. Let's do this together. Thank you so much for joining. Have a great afternoon.
