Hi, I'm Diane. I'm at Sixthreezero in San Clemente, and this is the Relaxed Body E-Trike. And you know, the other day someone said to me, I know that you're riding these bikes and making a transition from your other bikes and coming off injuries, things like that as well. And someone said, I don't know, do you think you're too old? I'm 64. Do you think you're too old to try the E-Trikes? Like, maybe you should stick to walking or something like that. And my response to that is, as long as you check with a doctor and you don't have anything that would physically stop you from riding a bike, I don't think you're ever too old to try something new. Look, I ran my first marathon when I turned 40. I did my first triathlon when I turned 50. I can no longer do those things. And to me, having an e-trike is amazing and life-altering because it allows me to be able to get back on a bike, ride as long as I want, get in the exercise that I want, and then when it gets to the point where I'm listening to my body and my body is saying, you know what, your knee's starting to hurt a little bit, or maybe I'm getting a little bit more winded than I want to.
The eTrike gives me the tools that I need to continue the ride and continue living my life and riding on paths and hills that, if left just to my own energy level, I couldn't do. So that's what we're going to do today. Um, I'm going to jump on and show you a little bit about what this bike is all about, but talk to your doctor. If you have the okay from your doctor to move forward with riding a bike, to me, an e-trike or an e-bike is the next logical step to do that because it allows you to use your energy when you want to and rely fully on the bike when you want to as well, and get out and do the things that you want to do. It's good for your mind. It really is about getting out and enjoying life. So let's go for a ride. Okay, so I'm going to... I have pedal assist on. Actually, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna turn pedal assist off altogether. So it's off. So the riding right now is just me and my energy. So, as I tell you, the beauty of any type of e-trike is that you can use it the way that you would a traditional bike.
But what I like about the e-trike is that when I'm going to stop, I don't have to get off the bike as you do with a two-wheeled bike. I was thinking about that the other day. So right now it's just me, and I'm pedaling, and I can switch gears. Right now I'm in third gear. I went up to fourth gear, which actually makes it a little bit harder. So let's say that I just want to get some exercise in, and that's what I'm doing. You can probably tell just by watching the cadence drop, and I'm pushing right now, and I want to because I want to get some exercise in, but I don't want to be sore tomorrow, and I don't want to pull a muscle.
So now I'm turning pedal assist on, and immediately you can tell just by how hard I'm not pushing, that the pedal assist is doing what it's supposed to. The motor is making this ride easier for me. So as you get a little bit older and you don't want that hard of a workout, that's where the pedal assist comes in handy. So now I'm going to click into pedal assist two, keeping the same cadence, and It's going to take me a little bit faster. See? So you could be 60, 70, 80, 90 years old and ride an e-trike and use as little or as much of your own energy as you want. And right now, what this is going to allow me to do is not have the pain in my knees that I would have if I were riding a bike all on my own. So my mom, who's 90, we're actually looking at getting an e-trike for her because she likes to go around her neighborhood. And right now she uses a walker.
She can walk without it, but she uses a walker in case she gets tired and she wants to sit down. But there's only so far she can go on her walker. And also, she has to worry about cracks in the sidewalk, things like that. But there is an e-trike that I think would be perfect for her. Plenty of room for her to bring her things. Right or left? Plenty of stability locks on parking brakes so that, because again, she does use a walker, so parking brakes so that there's a lot of stability when she gets onto the bike.
Let's say that you go someplace, there are beautiful willow trees where my mom lives, but she just can't get there without it being a whole thing, you know, putting the walker in the car, driving over that way. So my point is, you can be 90, and there are people all over her neighborhood who use e-trikes. And she's like, all of a sudden, I see all these people riding their e-trikes. So right now I'm going up a little hill, and I'm using more of my leg power, and I don't want to. I don't want my knees to hurt tomorrow. So I clicked up to pedal assist two, and the energy level that I'm exerting is zero. I'm pedaling, but the motor's really helping me. This is the beauty of an e-bike, e-trike, when you're older.
It allows me to do things that I would not necessarily do. And my 90-year-old mom can go and see the willow trees with complete confidence and then just pull her e-trike into the garage. And she's had a wonderful afternoon out. And she got a little exercise in and saw everything she wanted to see that she would not be able to see on her own. Doesn't matter how old you are. As long as you get the okay from your doctor, do it. So see, even at 64, I can go out. I can tackle the hills. I can feel comfortable. I got some exercise in. And when my legs started to feel fatigued, in order to avoid the pain in my knees, I increased pedal assist, which put my personal energy exertion to zero, and I let the bike take over. And that's what the cool thing is about e-trikes and getting to be a little bit older. Or even if you're younger and you have some physical challenges. So thank you for coming with me.
Come out to Sixthreezero, test some of these e-trikes for yourself so that you can get out and enjoy the world as well. Have a great afternoon. Thank you.
