“I Didn’t Even Feel the Passenger!” | EBike Rickshaw Surprises 60+ Riders First-Time Riders

What happens when three seniors decide to test drive an E-Bike Rickshaw for the first time? We invited Deb (66), Dan (67), and Linda (66) to the Sixthreezero showroom in San Clemente to find out.

The goal? To see if an e-trike built for two could really handle the daily ride—and whether it was as user-friendly as it looks. The Initial Hesitation

Before hopping on, the group admitted to feeling a little intimidated. Compared to standard e-bikes, the rickshaw looks substantial. However, that nervousness vanished the moment they started riding.

"I was a little nervous because it seemed so big," Linda shared. "But now that I’m doing it, it is not difficult to control at all."I Didn't Even Feel the Passenger!"

The biggest surprise for our test drivers was how light and agile the bike felt, even with a passenger on the back. Whether navigating turns or accelerating with pedal assist, the weight was barely noticeable.

"I totally did not even feel you back there," Deb noted after her turn at the handlebars. "It was so easy to drive."

The riders found that with the right use of the throttle and pedal assist, the e-trike handles just as smoothly as a standard beach cruiser—giving the driver total confidence regardless of the extra weight. Built for Safety & Comfort

The group was particularly impressed by the engineering behind the rickshaw, noting several "pro-senior" safety features:

  • Hydraulic Brakes: The stopping power provided peace of mind, allowing the riders to halt quickly even when carrying a passenger.
  • The "Parking Brake" Safety Feature: This unique Sixthreezero feature locks the brakes and automatically kills the throttle. This ensures the bike won't accidentally lurch forward if a passenger climbs in or out while the driver is distracted.
  • Premium Suspension: With front shocks and a shock-absorbing seat, the ride remained smooth and comfortable, even on uneven terrain—a major plus for riders mindful of hip health.
  • Easy Accessibility: The "step-in" design made it incredibly easy for passengers to get in and out without needing to lift their legs too high.

The "MacDaddy" Setup

As Dan, our 67-year-old test driver, put it: "This is definitely MacDaddy'd out."

He pointed out that the rickshaw comes equipped with everything a rider could need: front shocks, a seat shock, a tow bar, turn signals, a horn, and a dedicated phone mount. It’s a fully loaded setup designed for those who want to swap their car for an e-trike without losing the convenience of modern accessories. The Final Verdict

By the end of the day, the group’s initial hesitation had turned into genuine excitement. They agreed that the rickshaw isn't just a bike—it’s a lifestyle upgrade. Whether you're taking your grandkids out, running errands, or just looking to enjoy the fresh air without relying on a car, this e-trike makes it accessible and incredibly fun.
