Can You Ride an EBike After Hip Replacement? 66 Year Old Senior Tries an E-Bike After Hip Surgery

Hi, I'm Deb. I'm 66 years old. I've just had hip replacement surgery, so I'm trying out some bikes to see what feels good for me on my hip. So I'm on a two-wheeler, which I'm a little nervous about because it's been a long time since I've been on one. So I'm gonna probably be a little wobbly, but I'll get it. As they say, it's like riding a bicycle, you just get right back on. So let's have a go. Okay. It's, yes. It's been a while, exactly. Okay, so far so good. Wow.

I was a little nervous about my balance, but I feel okay. But I won't speak too soon. So let's just see how we go. Oh, this is great. Wow. Again, this feels really comfortable. You know, it's the underside of the hip, which I worry about, but not feeling it feels really good. Gosh, it's been years since I've ridden a bike. I don't know, it's been years since you've had me. It's been years since I've been able to use my hip and my legs, because my hip was getting worse and worse. But now that I have a new hip, I have a new sense of freedom. Go back to doing what I like.

And this is low impact, riding a bicycle, especially e-bikes. There's no pressure. You're not straining. This is... You know, while you're building the muscles back up, this is better for you than, obviously, running and walking. Going to say it. I feel young again. Gosh, I was really concerned about getting on a two-wheeler, but look at me. This is great. It feels so good to feel the wind in my face, in my hair.

A little wobbly, but I'm all right. And if I get tired, I just stop pedaling for a little bit. And here I am. E-Power. This is amazing. I'm going to keep saying that. It feels really good. It is comfortable. The saddle is comfortable underneath the hip. So I'm happy about that. But you've got to pedal a little bit just to keep the blood flowing and the muscles stronger. Yeah, I feel good. Very happy.

So remember, this is a low-impact exercise. You've got blood flowing everywhere that you need, hitting that new joint. And there's no strain. Wow. Amazing. Let's give it a little power. So this bike is engineered in a way that you've got the pedals forward. So you actually feel close to the ground. So if you are feeling unstable at any point, you can just put your feet down and help yourself. So this is a great design. I'm thrilled. I'm thrilled I rode a two-wheeler. Yay. Thanks. SIXTHREEZERO. You did it.
